Day at the Ranch

On June 6th, Ernie's class took a field trip to the M-Bar-C Ranch. The ranch caters to kids with disabilities, and gives them the opportunity to be cowboys for a day. There were horses to ride and an Old West town to play in, complete with bank, post office, saloon, jail, and chapel.

Sophia and I were able to tag along for the trip. She had so much fun, and even rode a horse! We were told that no one under age 4 would be allowed to ride a horse. We weren't upset about that rule, since we figured Fia would be afraid of it anyway. Not so! She was happy to pet the horse, then sit on the horse, and even took two turns riding. The horse she rode was Patches. She still talks about him!

The ranch provides dress-up clothes to enhance the experience. The clothes were too big for Sophia, but she and Ernie both found hats!
