Sophia was excited to go to another museum after going to a children's museum with my dad and stepmom. We had to laugh when she looked for the same exhibits at this museum! We started in the toddler area. Sophia's favorite part was the water table - no surprise there.
Then we ventured to the Butterfly Garden. It was amazing! There were butterflies everywhere! The pamphlet said that butterflies emerge from cocoons every day. We didn't see that happen, but we did see butterflies at rest, fluttering around, and sipping nectar from flowers. The butterflies were my favorite part.
After the butterflies, we checked out the space exhibit. Sophia and I checked out the solar system and the space capsule. She thought the space capsule was pretty cool until it started the lift-off sequence which was too loud for her.
We went backwards around the sun seven times to go back in time to the mesozoic era, and saw the dinosaurs. This exhibit garnered the most gasps from Sophia. She loved seeing the dinosaurs, but did not love having her picture taken with the dinosaurs. We were looking at the t-rex skull, which was next to a human skull for reference. I told her the human skull was a head like hers, and look how big the dinosaur head was. She said no, that's not a head like hers, it's a pirate! The dinosaurs were Ernie's favorite part.
And Kaitlyn's favorite part? It's a toss-up between eating and napping!
