Thanks for Cooking

Around here, when sitting at the dinner table, the person who did not cook usually thanks the person who did for a job well done. Even if it's just warming something in the microwave or picking up pizza on the way home from work, appreciation is given.

Last night, Sophia and I were on our own for dinner while Ernie worked late. I made chicken noodle soup (per Sophia's request), toast, and green beans (for her - of course I didn't eat any). She actually waited for me to sit at the table before she started eating, which we have not actually taught her yet. I guess setting an example worked for this lesson. Then she said, "Thank you for cooking Mama." I melted. How precious is that?
