Our doctor recommended that Sophia start seeing a dentist at age 3. Our dentist suggested that we bring her in now, at 2-1/2, for a "happy visit". It is a chance for kids to come in and get comfortable with the idea of going to the dentist, before he actually needs to look in their mouths. Since Fia is not a fan of new experiences and strangers, we thought it an excellent idea to take her in for a Happy Visit. Here she is, waiting patiently.
She was so excited to go! (Of course, we helped by also acting excited!) Once we went back to the chair, though, it was a different story. Here are a bunch of people she doesn't know in a very foreign environment. She stuck to me like glue! Eventually, she was willing to sit in the chair all by herself, and even enjoyed "riding" in the chair.
We'll take her back in a few months for another Happy Visit, with the hopes that by the time she is actually 3, she'll be comfortable enough to have her teeth looked at. We'll keep you posted!
